 limited government, Itlimmits the government's power by specifying what the government has and doesnt have. It specifies it in article 1of the constitution stats powers that it dose and dose not have.

 

 Federalism, power is divided between state and national government. government allows state to deal with needs in their own way. they also have three other powers. Enymerated power,retand by federal government this includes power to make coin $, regulate foreign affairs, maintain armed forces, and creates federal corts.reserved powers to establish schools,establish  marriage law and regulate trade within own state.concurrent powers powers shared by state and federal government.

 

 separation of power, they are separated between 3 branches of government executive, legislative, and Judaical all have their own responsibilities.

 

 checks and balances, each branch holds some power over the other congress passes laws president vetoes it goes back to congress for a 2/3 over ride vote or it is signed by president. the judicial branch checks the constitutionality of it.
